UPF Organizes Online Rally Calling for Peace, Reconciliation and Mutual Prosperity

Nearly 1 million people are expected to join in this year’s rally of hope organized by Universal Peace Federation. It is scheduled to be at Cheongshim Peace World Center in Korea on Sunday, 9 August, 2020(9:30 am KST or 3pm CST). The theme this year is centered on “the realization of a heavenly unified world of interdependence, mutual prosperity, and universal values”.

Welcome message will be presented by Ban Ki-Moon, former UN Secretary-General and the congratulatory messages are from H.E. Macky Sall, President of Senegal; H.E. Hun Sen, prime minister of Cambodia; the Hon. Brigi Rafini, prime minister of Niger and other world leaders. UPF Co-Founder Dr. Hak Ja Han will offer a special keynote message of hope to humanity. Participants on this rally of hope include global leaders and people from all around the world. Through this rally, world leaders are also trying to look the way forward beyond global challenges that includes the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, issues of race, environmental problem and global economic
turndown.

This year’s online rally of hope is focused on three aspects: proposal of alternative solutions for the eradication of poverty and hunger, solidarity and cooperation to end conflicts between regions around the world and programs for the ending of racial discrimination. The vision of rally of hope is one human family bound together by the love of God. They advocate the philosophy of interdependence, mutual prosperity, and universal values in which humanity breathes and lives together, transcending all religious, racial and national barriers. Rally of hope challenges humans with the novel concept of seeing our own purpose in life fulfilled in the well-being of others. It believes in a worldwide peace movement conducted under the solidarity and cooperation of heads of state. Representatives of various faiths try to understand interreligious and interdenominational peace
movement.

Medias from across the globe also support this rally and advocate ethical values and morality in society. It is also a vital movement led by people in the economic sector to promote interdependence and to work for equal distribution of wealth. Another global interdisciplinary movement is led by scholars to unify academic values based on the study of absolute values.
