Kathmandu, Nov 30: Kathmandu Gorkhas defeated Karnali Yaks by five wickets in today’s match under the Nepal Premier League (NPL). Kathmandu Gorkhas met the target of 150 runs in 18 overs by losing five wickets.
For the victory of Kathmandu Gorkhas, Gerhard Erasmus contributed 43 runs not out, John Simpson made 41 runs and Ben Charlesworth made 34 runs.
Towards bowling, Karnali’s Nandan Yadav took three wickets and Pawan Saraf took one wicket.
Elected to bat first after winning the toss at Tribhuvan International Cricket Stadium, Kirtipur, Karnali made 149 runs in 20 overs at the loss of seven wickets. Gulsan Jha collected the highest 49 runs for Karnali Yaks while Pawan Saraf made 35 runs and Mark Watt made 30 runs.
With this win, Kathmandu Gorkhas has collected eight points and is likely to make it to the playoff, while this is the fourth defeat for Karnali Yaks out of five games played so far.
