Chitwan, Feb 15: Nepali Congress (NC) Spokesperson Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat spoke of the need to deliver with focus on party interests rather than individualistic ones.
At a press meet organized by the Nepal Press Union here today, Spokesperson Mahat asked the party cadres to strengthen organization.
Cautioning that the tendency of prioritizing personal interest over collective welfare would weaken the party, Mahat discouraged the individualistic tendencies. He underscored correction in the party statute so that higher echelons in the party would take together all.
He also called for enabling an environment where one accepts another without any bias and move ahead in unison for the greater good of the party.
In a different note, the party Spokesperson ruled out the possibility of holding party’s next national convention within 2082 BS.
“The 15th national convention of the party might be delayed as preparation has not been completed yet. Preparations consume more time,” Mahat explained. According to him, party’s statute allows extension of an additional one and half year for organizing party’s national convention. The central committee will decide on it extension, Dr Mahat reminded.
As for ordinances introduced by the incumbent government, Spokesperson Dr Mahat said the discussions were underway with the opposition parties. “There is no issue with five ordinances. The issue emanated in the ordinances related to land will be addressed through replacement bill,” he argued.
