Mustang, Dec 17: People from upper Mustang have been benefitted with a health camp.
The people who were still residing in Namasung and Nyanol villages of Lomanthang-2 in Mustang irrespective of chilly weather were provided health services through the camp.
Generally, the people in the upper belt of Mustang migrate to the lower places to avoid freezing cold during winter. However, some households not having alternatives are bound to brave the cold in the upper Mustang. The health camp was organized considering such households.
The Area Conservation Office of the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP), Lomanthang, Border Outpost of the Armed Police Force and the Police Post at Chhoser jointly organized the health camp.
Chief of ACAP at Lomanthang, Umesh Paudel, informed that the health camp was organized, especially to make the locals aware of the health risks of cold and measures to stay warm. They could suffer from common cold, fever and coughing during the winter. The locals underwent general health check up and were provided medicines for free of cost, he added.
Total 22 persons- 19 women and 3 men- benefitted from the health camp.
