Ashra Kunwar, popularly known as a Rock singer/ songwriter and founder of the band “Ashra and the Parables” who is also an Environmental researcher has been appointed as the Brand Ambassador for Agricultural Development Bank Limited which is the oldest governmental bank having 273 branches in 77 district. The agreement contract was signed at ADBL bank itself which was held on 12 May 2020. Due to the need of maintaining social distancing during the COVID pandemic, the signing function was held with the CEO, Mr. Anil Kumar Upadhyaya of ADBL bank with few other staff whereas, brand ambassadors previously were welcomed with the huge number of people and bank staffs from all over Kathmandu.
After being chosen as the Country Ambassador for Youth opportunities, with its headquarter at Bangladesh, Dhaka , Ashra Kunwar as an environmental activist , has been now appointed as the banks Brand Ambassador for more than a year. It is been known that she was approached by the CEO himself to be appointed as the youngest Ambassador for the bank after he watched her interview at NTV PLUS called “ The Young Achievers”.
Ashra Kunwar from Nepal is a young, spirited and relentless Environmental Research scientist and a Singer- Songwriter Currently she is aiming for her PhD degree in Wildlife communications and Human wildlife conflicts. She is a self- motivated and a relentless goal oriented person who is willing to go above and beyond on any project related to Climate Resiliency, Wildlife and communications she says.
Ashra loves to learn valuable skills on her own time. Having a few history of success in the field of Environment and communications, as a singer/songwriter, Journalist, Country Ambassador at Youth Opportunities, Research scholar from World Bank Asia at Wuhan University , communications officer for past 3 years, winner of Miss Heritage International pageant at Sri Lanka, Peace Ambassador- Winner ( Gold medalist at Sri Lanka), Environmental Ambassador ( Silver Medalist at Sri Lanka), The Voice of Nepal ( Quarter Finalist), The Climate Reality Leader at Former US vice president Al Gore’s training corps, Best idea project award winner in Climate Resiliency and Empowering human person ( Fund Grantee),Final year college top scorer in both dissertation and course work in Graduate program, public speaker at different countries such as : Philippines, Sri Lanka, New Delhi, Bangalore, China and Italy ( Palermo), She is still hungry to meet new goals and overcome challenges and effectively bring success to the team as she works with determination, hard work and introspection, as her 3 core values in life.
Ashra aims to set an example as relentless women in the world someday by being an effective communicator and a spirited leader both as a Stage performer & an Environmental activist. Recently, she has performed at International stages like: Australia, Korea, India, Egypt and more. Ashra was also listed at WOW – Young women of Substance.
